‘The small-flowered nanus gladiolus mixture is a true summer bloomer that can bloom as late as autumn. This particular small-flowered gladiolus grows to 60-70 cm. and is also a wonderful cut flower. This gladiolus mixture is very richly flowering and should not be missing in your summer flower garden. Plant the Gladioli tubers about 7-10 cm deep in spring. First loosen the soil well and sprinkle a layer of sharp sand at the bottom of the planting hole. This allows rainwater to drain well under the tubers. Place the tubers about 10-12 cm apart. While planting, add some good potting soil. Mix heavy (clay) soil with sharp sand before planting. This small-flowered gladiolus likes to grow in a warm sunny spot. This small-flowered gladiolus mixture has beautiful variegated colours and is therefore easy to combine. You can create special combinations in the border with perennials, dahlias and other summer flowers. Preferably plant gladioli in a different spot every year. Do you use gladioli as cut flowers? If so, pick the stems when the bottom flower opens, preferably early in the morning. Place the stems immediately in a vase of lukewarm water with cut flower food. ’
