Kentia palm (Howea forsteriana) - Buy 5 Seeds?

Popular as a houseplant since the 19th century, the Kentia palm is native only to 1 island east of Australia: Lord Howe Island. This beautiful volcanic island is only 10 kilometres long and 600 kilometres off the coast. Because of its unique flora and fauna, it is listed by UNESCO and 75% of the island is currently a nature reserve. The Kentia palm grows mainly in the centre of the island, a fairly low area between two mountains, reaching a height of about 10 metres there. As a houseplant, it stays a lot smaller and its growth is elegant and narrow. Furthermore, it is also a slow grower (even in the tropics), making it a relatively expensive palm.
The species can withstand little light, so it can grow in a shady location. But the plant becomes more beautiful in a bright location without direct sunlight. This is because in the midday sun the leaves can burn. Also, make sure the pot is deep because of the taproot and let the soil dry out between waterings.
Kentia is the former genus of the species, but later it became Howea (named after the island).

Sowing description: Germination can take several months so you will need some patience for this species. Sow seeds shallowly in seed soil or coconut fibre and keep soil constantly slightly moist. Ensure a (day) temperature of about 25grC and at night it may cool down. Not all seeds will germinate, but usually germination takes place after 2 or 3 months. Germination can follow as long as the seeds are hard. So you can always dig up the seeds to see how they are doing.
