The mixed asiatic lilies are brilliant garden and cut flowers with their unusual colours. Their height is 70-80 cm. Lilies look great in groups between perennials and shrubs. After flowering, they can be left quietly in the ground and will bloom again year after year. The planting depth of a lily is between 10 and 15 cm. Before planting the bulbs, make sure the soil is airy and permeable to moisture. Plant lilies sheltered from the wind along a fence or among other plants and shrubs. The flowers like to be in the sun. Bulbs of lilies can be planted both in spring, around April-May, and in autumn, October-November. In case of frost, it is best to protect the bulbs and any shoots that have already emerged with some leaves or branches. It is recommended to transplant lilies every 3-4 years. They will then draw new energy from the new soil and the lilies will bloom beautifully and colourfully for years to come. Beware of the orange lily bug: it is the lily's greatest enemy! The bugs are best controlled by removing them manually. There are various pesticides, but lily beetles quickly become immune to these.
