Grape plants, called 'Vitis Vinifera' in Latin, are magnificent climbing plants that give your garden or balcony a Mediterranean atmosphere. As if you imagine yourself in the warm south! The grape on stem can be planted either in a pot or in the open ground. Put them in a sunny spot and then let them grow and climb beautifully against fence, fence, wall or pergola. Around September/October is harvest time and you can enjoy delicious red, blue and white grapes from your own garden. How nice is that?
Grape on stem
The Vitis Vinifera is an easy plant to maintain. The most important thing is to put the plant in a warm, sheltered spot in the sun where it can grow and climb well. Preferably plant your grapevine in the open ground; here it can find moisture and nutrients more easily, so it grows faster. Always ensure good drainage! Grape plants are hardy to -15℃ and therefore easily survive the Dutch winters. However, the plant does lose its leaves during this period. In spring, the grape on stem will grow new leaves again. It is best to prune the plant every year in February. The grape plants are delivered with a height of about 30-40 cm.
