Gloriosa 'Rothschildiana' is a climbing plant with fiery red petals with yellow edges. Long yellow stamens give the flower an exotic appearance. This plant grows from a tuber that you can plant either in a pot on the balcony or in full soil. Planting time around mid-April.Gloriosa likes a warm spot in the morning sun where it also prefers a min. temperature of 16°. Regularly cut out the spent flowers and give it regular fertiliser. Keep the soil well moist. The Gloriosa tuber should be overwintered indoors as soon as the leaves freeze off. The tuber should then dry out completely and should not be watered again during the winter. Minimum temperature should be 13°C.
