This impressive "Emperor's Crown" has orange-red, pendulous, bell-shaped flowers. The strong air of the bulbs keeps mice and moles at bay. It is advisable to plant the bulb at a slight angle when planting to prevent water staying in the bulb. It is not a true 'naturaliser'. If you want to keep the bulbs, uproot them as soon as possible after the leaves have died off and store them in a dry place above 20 degrees until replanting in October.
