Growing exotic vegetables
The world is getting smaller, because many of the exotic vegetables, mostly from Asia and China, can also be grown in our climate. Grown in greenhouses, of course, but also in the open field. An exotic voyage of discovery. The vegetables are generally smaller in size and dimensions. They are often fast growers, so it is advisable to sow smaller quantities at shorter intervals. And most varieties are well hardy.
Xotica seeds bring the world a little closer.
XOTICA COLLECTION
Exotica seeds originate from Asia, Central and South America. The plants require no special treatment and can, in most cases, simply be sown/planted in the garden in the Netherlands. Exotic varieties cannot be compared to Tropical crops. They cannot simply be planted in a country that does not have the same conditions as the country of origin. In many cases, that means Tropical varieties have to be grown indoors or in a greenhouse. Growing Exotic varieties, on the other hand, is easier. The seeds can be sown indoors in spring. After mid-May, the young seedlings can be planted outdoors in the garden, preferably in a sheltered spot. Sowing does require a reasonably high temperature and most seeds and young plants grow well in humid conditions. It is advisable to use a greenhouse or propagator for sowing. Exotic plants need a position in full sun in most cases. Moist and nutritious soil is necessary for growing Exotic crops.
