The large-flowered, dinnerplate dahlia 'Tartan' is a rewarding summer bloomer that will give you months of pleasure. Dahlia 'Tartan' blooms with giant flowers all summer from July until the first night frost. Dahlia 'Tartan' grows about 120-130cm tall. Sometimes it is necessary to support the flower stems. Dahlia tubers can be planted in spring. Dahlia 'Tartan' is sensitive to frost, so beware of late night frosts. Dig a spacious planting hole, loosen the soil and fill the planting hole with good potting soil. Carefully place the tubers in the planting hole and cover with 3-5 cm of soil. The planting distance of the tubers is 50 cm. After planting, water the tubers immediately. Dahlias flower most abundantly in full sun. Store the tubers after flowering in a frost-free place and you will enjoy them for years.Dahlia 'Tartan' combines well with perennials and other dahlia varieties. The giant white-red flowers are real eye-catchers in the border. Dahlia 'Tartan' is also an excellent cut flower and long-lasting in the vase. The best time to cut dahlias is early in the day. Immediately put the stems in lukewarm water with cut flower food.
