Citrus Histrix - Buy 10 Seeds?

The striking leaves of this Citrus variety are very aromatic and have a fresh-sweet fragrance and flavour. In Southeast Asian cuisines, it is frequently added as a seasoning to all kinds of dishes, including, for example, curries and soups. Toko shops often sell the leaves frozen or dried, but fresh (from its own plant) actually has the best flavour. Besides the leaf, the green, bumpy fruits can also be used in various dishes. They are similar to a lime, but slightly more bitter. In the Netherlands, the plant can also flower and thus give fruit, but it depends on how much leaf you harvest from the plant. The more leaves you use, the less likely it is to produce flowers and fruit. It is a tropical species, so it does need to be well-warm for fruiting and rapid growth. In a pot, the maximum height will be about 1.5 metres, but in Southeast Asia, the shrub can grow up to 10 metres tall. Provide well-drained soil and water regularly in the summer months. In winter, the plant can be kept slightly drier and overwintered above 5 degC. The species is suitable as a tub and houseplant.

Sowing description: Sow short-stable seeds directly in seed and cutting soil. Keep soil constantly slightly moist and cover with foil or glass. Germination usually within a few weeks at 22-30 grC.
