Canna Red Futurity - Buying Exotic / Tropical Plants? 1 Plant

Height in cm 90
Flowering time August - October
Planting time April - June

Canna 'Red Futurity' gives your patio or balcony a tropical look. This variety produces red flowers that contrast beautifully with the dark foliage. Cannas originate from the tropics. They therefore love a sunny spot. Canna looks great in a spacious flower pot or planter. Take a large pot with holes in the bottom. Cover the bottom with potsherds or a layer of hydro pellets. Put potting soil in the flower pot and set the pot ball of the Canna at the right height. Top up with soil and press firmly. Give plenty of water immediately after planting. Place the flower pot or planter in a spot in full sun. The flowers and large dark leaves of the Canna are indispensable in a border that has a 'tropical' character. Provide a sunny spot for these tropical plants to feel at home. Canna bulbs, like dahlias, are very easy to overwinter. After the first night frost, remove the corms from the pot or full ground. Place the Canna tubers in a crate with peat moss or sand. Large Canna tubers can be divided immediately. Store the Canna tubers in a frost-free room. Next spring (after the last night frost) you can plant them again.
