How to plant daffodils?
Dig a trench several centimetres deep and keep a distance of about 5 to 10 centimetres between the two bulbs. This prevents the daffodils from growing too close together. Plant the daffodil bulbs with the point up and secure them firmly in the soil.
How long do daffodils last?
Years of pleasure from flowering Daffodils
The Daffodil is a perennial bulbous plant and can simply stay in the garden (in pots or full soil) after flowering. If we want the plant to flower beautifully again next season, it needs to store enough reserve food in the bulb.
Can daffodils withstand frost?
"Most bulbs can withstand frost just fine. And I mean the usual varieties like tulips, snowdrops, crocuses, hyacinths and daffodils. If they are already well above ground, they will flatten out in frost. This is a natural reaction.
Can you store faded daffodils?
Store dead flower bulbs in a cardboard box
Put a newspaper between each layer of bulbs and store the box in a dry and cool place. You can plant the bulbs again from late September, October or even in November. You plant most of the spring-flowering bulbs from a bulb in September.
